New Ball
« on: November 13, 2010, 04:32:03 AM »
Hey everyone I need a little help on a new ball.  First of all a little about myself.  I have slow ball speed, about 12-13 mph, with borderline medium revs.  My current arsenal is only a Bedlam and Total Bedlam that are both drilled the same way, skid/flip.  I'm looking for something with more of a controlled hook.  I would like to try some Motiv equipment so if anyone has any suggestions I'm all eyes.  Thanks

I drilled up a QZ2 70x2.5x40 and love it for med.oil  it's clean in the heads, makes a nice controlled arc in the mid lane and has a slight flip on the backend. everyone's situation is different but all in all this is a great ball IMO.

my stats:
speed-16-18 at the deck
revs-400's
tilt-10*
axis rot-45 average
pap 47/8>7/16^

hope this helps!

Thanks six pack.  That is one of the balls I've been considering.  I've also thought about the SR2 for when they make them a little more damp.

I would say go with a SR2 (do to your speed) with a little more aggressive drill to produce a earlier roll. Some where in the idea if 40x4x65 with a hole down.  This should give you a early read with a slower response off the dry.  Hard to give a exact drill pattern without knowing tilt, rotation and pap.

The QZ2 would work but I think you would have to hit the cover to get the reaction your looking for.  Why make a apple an orange?

Being that you have two asymmetrical balls already picking up a symmetrical ball with a control or smoother layout will be a great addition to your arsenal.

Only a suggestion hope this helps,

I have a qz2 with a 50x50@5" with a p3 hole...OOB finish as well..ball is strong as can be, i dont know what it is, everyone says this qz2 is suppose to be a weaker version of the qz1 but this ball flat out hooks for me. i play hard and straight appx 300 rev rate... ball gets through the heads very nice with a hard backend movement. Love this ball!!
