You dont take a ball that isnt designed to be a benchmark and alter it to become one.  If you want benchmark, then go benchmark.  Also have to remember that mid priced balls are stronger now than they were 5 years ago.  If you want something to replace the 811, then look at the 706 C/A.  The cover is a hybrid that has has the cover from the 811 as part of the cover.  It will give you some midlane roll like a benchmark mark but a little angularity without being flippy. 

The Venom Toxin is about five boards stronger than the Venom Strike.  The Primal Scream is similar to the Venom Toxin, but for me less angular.  Typically a benchmark ball is a solid with a consistent reaction.  That would be the Venom Strike.  It really depends on your style and personal preference.  The final answer is whatever ball lets you read the pattern.
