The exchange program was offered to allow anyone that wanted immediate resolution to receive such. Taking a ball of lesser value was your choice, as was waiting on the LE. Here Jackals sold for 229.95, Havoc 214.95. A ball devalues FAR more than $15 the second you drill a hole in it.
I'm still curious what system you would have engineered to handle the situation better? This is not an argument, genuinely curious.
Did I complain about taking a ball of a lessor price? No, I just made that statement and I'm happy with the choice. And yes, I did choose to wait on the LE.
Justin, I appreciate your ball reviews and dedication to Motiv. I mostly use Motiv myself and I don't even get them for free.
What would I have done differently? Good question and I don't have the full story so there is no way I would suggest a reasonable solution. I would have probably hired outside help, like a public relations firm to get expert advise. Perhaps Motiv did this, but from my point of view, they seem to be "winging it" and hoping for the best.
But here is the real problem for Motiv, they have hundreds of league bowlers(if not thousands) who were left without their ball to end the league season. Those same bowlers are now heading into the fall league season still without a similar ball. Are they going to accept that, or are they going to get the latest hook monster from a different company? I know a lot of bowlers and I can tell you what I have seen and that is a lot of Alpha Crux's, Lock's, Paradox's, Nirvina's and Guru's being sold to previous owners of the Jackal.
The new Trident could have filled that gap, but Motiv is still trying to win a pissing contest with USBC.
Personally, I will still throw Motiv as I don't use the heavy oil stuff that often anyway. But it would be nice to have a high end asymmetric in my bag for tournaments when needed.
