Title: new to motiv
Post by: Ken De Beasto on March 11, 2015, 12:23:14 PM
Alright my fellow br brothers i am finally interested in trying  a motiv ball. I'm looking for a solid and I research that the forza or venom shock would be the best choice. What do you guys think is more versatile or more bang for your Buck. Or is there an even greater ball than these two.

What I've seen online and on the lanes is that the Shock is immensely popular among a wide range of players.

The Venom Shock is the better overall value, but from reading your posts, I get the impression that you bowl mostly in Elk Grove at Pins-n-Strikes. If that's the case, you probably need something to handle a little more oil like the Forza or even the Covert Revolt.

I've done well with a Covert Revolt in that house.

Yea but it's gonna be a  tournament ball for sport shots. Looking for versatility. Strikes I just throw older balls don't need much reaction .

Sport shots is a pretty broad term. For short patterns like Wolf and Cheetah, I would go with the Venom Shock, medium length and volume or longer patterns with light volume(Shark) I use my Forza a lot. For the long/heavy patterns like Badger, Scorpion and Bear(Not long, but plenty of oil) I use my Covert Revolt.

If I had to choose only one for flatter oil, it would be the Forza.

I would go with the Forza as well... It is so versatile and it takes surface changes pretty well, the Shock is a great ball too, but if I had to choose between both, I'll go with the Forza.
