Orange Recon RX-1 discontinued???
« on: April 11, 2011, 01:07:02 PM »
I recommended an Orange Recon RX-1 to an older bowler in my Tuesday night men's league to replace his Columbia Pulse,  and when the owner tried to order one he was told it was discontinued.  I was wondering if this was true and if there was going to be some type of replacement?

I'd rather you hate me for everything I am, then have you love me for something that I'm not!!! 5FDP

Yes, as far as I know. I tried the same thing with one place and that's what they told me.
I ordered one from Bowling Index,
It was a little more expensive but they met my specs request exactly and it was shipped immediately.

I believe Motiv considers the Silver Pearl Recon RX-1 to be its replacement.

FYI Unless you have a lot of ball speed, the Orange recon hooks more than most other dry lanes/light oil balls, like the SlingShot, but it still handles light oil and it still hits.

FYI #2 Mine came polished, not 4000 grit Matte as specified on the website. I had intended to polish it so it made no difference to me.
