I thought from the first ball in the video, I was like good lord, the mids are flying!! But overall good video. Still kind of a mind-boggler to me why they released it @ 1000 wet sand. And the 3" from PAP, what were you intending to do? Anything less than 3.375" is going towards pin-axis. Overall though, you throw it well. Props!

I can imagine the 3" pin is to get the ball started earlier for the THS he bowls on. The 65* drill angle and 60* VAL should make the ball playable when the lanes dry out. With Motiv, i find that strong drill work well drilling them long and weak, unless you have a boat load of hand, makes them a bit squirty. Just my observation. Great ball throwing Leto!

I know dual angles and why he went short on the distance, I was just surprised as I don't see really anything less than 3.375" pin to PAP. All of my layouts are 40-80* X 3.5-6.375" X 25-55*/etc.. I do see he has a low track and lots of ball speed so I can understand why he went so short on the distance.

Justin "Wi" gave me the layout. He does all the videos for Motiv. To be honest, I am new to the dual angle and didn't think anything of it when he told me to be at 3". It has a fairly low rg diff so I went with a stronger drill to compensate. Can't really drill to skid/flip bc ball is more continuous/smooth than flippy. Thanks for the compliments. I have recently got back into bowling after about an 8 year break. Like riding a bike.

3" pin on a symmetrical ball is going to maximize flare. He wanted more of the ball to touch the lane thereby getting the ball to start up. The 65*/60*, 65* is probably because you have a low tilt, and 60* because you'll be using it on drier patterns and you wont need the ball to hook a load on the back.

3.375" is what I've been taught is the shortest length of "maximizing flare". Just what I've had experience with. It's not like it honestly matters to me as I will never have such short distances because of such a high track and anything less than 3.5" pin to PAP puts CG 4"+ from grip center and "legality" with static weights becomes an issue.
