Possible backlash from the Native American community - Motiv Tribal

A friend who is on staff with Motiv posted a Picture for the Motiv Tribal on his Facebook Page, another friend who is a Native American Indian protested the ball's Name & Logo saying it offended him, so friend #1 Removed the Ad, is there any info from the Motiv community on this possible subject, does the name Tribal or the Logo with it apply to any Tribe in North America or is it just like the kids that used to get Tribal Tattoo's, it doesn't really mean anything?

We happen to bowl against a couple native american's just last week and my teammate was using his new tribal...they thought it was awesome and 1 of them ordered 1 from me.

Looking at the ball, its colors and designs, there is no connection to any North American Native tribe. The name, Tribal, could be applied worldwide, as could the words Clan and Nation. I would say it's unreasonable to find anything offensive about this ball. With all due respect, the reaction of being offended was overly sensitive.

That one person perceives a personal offense, made by another person, constitutes a problem between the individuals or a problem in perceiving the world at large. In either case, the ball itself is a symbol of a personal matter, nothing more.

Let's allow the resolution to remain a personal matter and not blow it out of proportion by involving whole communities. Dragging out a personal problem in the public domain will benefit no one. It becomes a spectacle.

This is a time for silence, a time to simply wish the two individuals Goodwill, a time for Kindness and understanding.

Before anyone passes judgement on this subject and I believe Don(Shwanstucker) is referring to my very close and longtime friend Dennis B's post on FB.  It was my response that was posted to his FB page, if anyone knows Dennis and myself you would know it was an inside joke between us.  I am native american (1/2 Navajo, 1/4 Choctaw and 1/4 Irish) and was not offended, it was just a light-hearted exchange between the two of us that never should have reached this forum.

I spoke with Dennis personally and he knew I was joking and he had no issue with my post on his FB page as we kid and joke with each other all the time as Don (Shwanstucker) should know by now.

FYI, the post has not been removed from his FB page, it is still there with my original comment, just my 2 cents worth.

Clearly, his very first posting was an attempt to start a wildfire over something that did not actually happen.

And now, instead of a retraction or apology, SCHWANSTUKER comes up with "I didn't use names".

But you did, SCHWANSTUKER! You tarnished MOTIV, the Tribal ball, and the Native American community, not to mention this site.

Where I live, throwing lit matches into a haystack/corn crib/field/wood pile/etc. is a punishable offense, whether or not an actual fire resulted.
