Primal Scream
« on: September 26, 2012, 04:37:08 PM »
The new Primal Scream is now unleashed for medium/heavy oil patterns, if you have not already heard! The scream has a solid version of the whiplash cover which was first used on the 2 cruel and comes at 4000 OOB. This solid version of the whiplash cover still clears the fronts exceptionally well and picks up in the midlane unlike anything I have seen before it. Although it picks up in the midlane, the Impulse V2 core has been tweaked from the primal impulse and allows the ball to be extremely smooth and controlable while still storing energy downlane on some of the longer of oil patterns. The medium/high RG (2.55) and medium diff (.050) is a great combination for control and length while the aggressive cover still picks up where you want to see it on longer and heavier patterns. This new release is an incredible ball to add to any arsenal and will scream back from virtually anywhere on the lane! Be sure and pick yours up today at your local pro shop!

Yet another Motiv advertisement. Thank you so much !

We don't need them. I for one believe they make good balls; I even use a few here and there. If I want to read an advertisement, I'll go to the Motiv Web site.

Why not use your writing skills to produce a ball review we can actually use, like one, God forbid, that actually compares it to another ball and on a few different oil patterns??????

Rather strong for you, Kid.  ;) j/p ball is a definite beast from my understanding. I'm fighting the urge to drill one since i already have so many symmetricals and i got a Maxxed Out on the way. Guess this will be in the strong bag.

Mine is looking to be 60x5.25x40

As much as you may like it, what was originally posted (by Npahr) is still nothing more than an advert.

(9/30/12: just for clarification, I was never saying that badbeard's reply was an advert. Just that his reply did not change my mind about the way I felt about the original poster's, Npahr's, post, which was almost a copy of the advert for the ball.)

Considering the original post is a literal cut and paste ad that anyone can post without ever seeing or throwing the ball id easily agree with charlest. No mention of the "bowlers" actual experience with the ball what so ever. Badbeard at least mentions something of intent for the ball with how he is laying it out ect.

For me so far the ball is a very stong ball that does require some oil for sure. At box finish I really do not get the skidsnap reaction it mentions. Since the obb is 4000grit sanded im not surprised. I will add a little polish which will easy add a cleaner skid through the heads and a little more snap off the dry. So far it clears the heads pretty good but isnt as angular off the spot as I was expecting. After having the ball in hand I figured some polish would be required.

I agree with Charlest. The advertising of new equipment by Motiv is becoming ridiculous. They make great balls, however, just because they do, doesnt make it right to assume that every piece will fit manufacturer spec. I remember when Justin used to come on and explain the ball, the drilling, and what he saw. Now, its advertisement sheet, throw ball. No explaination, and in some cases the balls look like the one before it. Now, with that said, I've made exact 3 bowling vids in my lifetime, and it aint an easy thing to do. By no means am i knocking the craftsmanship of what we're watching, just want a little more in depth analysis. Moreso than just "ad sheet, i stand here, throw here, ball strikes."

you people who whine about "motiv advertisement" crack me up. if you wanna see how the ball rolls, watch a ball reaction video or message Justin about it. otherwise stfu. you whine like a bunch of 60 year old women who jus hit menopause. thank god i dont come on this site often. People like you, charlest ruin the sport of bowling as well as this website. Thanks for the info bad beard, some people appreciate it.

I will not shut up just because you want Motiv to stick out.

This used to be a good place for discussions, now it's just a place for everyone to jump on the band wagon, like a political rally and to bash anyone who dares ot disagree. I was one of the ones who made this place where you could share information. I guess it is no longer that. Congratulations!

You can have it.

Kid, what was the layout on yours. I have yet to see my man Trip Roberts throw his so im getting some insight to see if i want this or a crossroad. Might just end up getting both.

60x5.25"x40 puts the pin just above the ring finger with the cg just right of my center grip line incase I want to add a weight hole later. This ball is a big ball that can handle the oil. For me to it needs a little polish for the medium conditions I face. In heavier oil I would certainly leave it at box finish.

the reason I wrote about my first set is because there are a number of of speed dominate bowlers that would like to know if this would work for him or her. And results speak for them self. I could have included that my first set on the 2cruel was 233,300,215,748 not a lie  you can look that up on bowl .com the reason I cut and paste is because I hunt and peck to type so why rewrite something over again when I don't have to. I just wanted to give bowlers an non Motiv staffer results. Oh by the way It was done in league not practice. So of you guys just seam to want to cry foul if some one write something good about a ball or brand that is not your choice. I have 4 300 games in league  1 Columbia  one with a 900 global Bounty Hunter one with a morich Mania  and one with motiv .2 cruel Just saying

Motiv's a great company so far. I used my Raptor today for 7 games on Kegel Broadway; however, Motiv reviews are copy/paste, and frankly, don't help sell/inform people bowling balls (at least the customers that investigate before they purchase).
In the bag:

Roto Grip Magic Gem
Motiv Primal Shock
Hammer Ocean Vibe
