I received two balls from a staffer after they used them.
One the Ascent Solid, (similar to my Sonic X solid like it). Another a ball listed as QZ2 and the description given to me was pearl. When the ball showed up nowhere on it did it say Backdraft, so I believed it was possible it was it was not the Hybrid.
I had seen the QZ1 red pearl on our shot and loved its smooth rounded look and also the Rotogrip Dark Stars both of these when drilled with normal setups (no 7 inch out weightholes) look like a step up between my Sonic x Solid and the Sonic Boom with it's reaction enhancing weighthole.
I may drill the backdraft(I now discovered I have) pin up, to be a compliment to my pin down explosive Rotogrip Rising star. Rounded you are right, fast reacting to friction, I think so.
As to comparing a Hybrid to a pearl with the same core, haven't done it yet, but my Shattered awaits.
Also to finalize my thoughts on this topic. I have to confess, my Dark Star is on it's way! To replace this QZ2 non pearl.
My arsenal. I love it.
