Description: The Primal Rage Remix is the 5th generation Primal and the strongest to date! It introduces the NEW Raw Fusion Hybrid Reactive Coverstock (Box surface - 4000 Grit LSS). The Primal Rage Remix also shares the same Impulse V2 Symmetric Core as used on the Primal Rage and Primal Scream.
Reaction: The Primal Rage Remix is a ball designed for heavy oil, without having to use an asymmetric core. It’s hard to imagine a ball that is angular and designed for heavy oil, in most cases they either are too clean for heavy oil, or they tend to be too strong too early taking away from the point of a faster responding ball made for longer patterns and or more volume. The Primal Rage Remix provides the right strength in the midlane and yet still allowing it to still respond fast enough when it encounters friction.
Comparisons: The Primal Rage Remix is a significantly stronger version of the original Primal Rage. It is stronger in the midlane but, slightly less responsive downlane, probably due to the fact the Primal Rage Remix has more surface on it out of the box. It is very close to being MOTIV’s strongest overall hooking ball, however the Jackal is just a little stronger overall. After experimenting and tweaking the surface of the Primal Rage Remix to match the surface of the Jackal I found the Primal Rage Remix to be very similar in overall hook, but the Primal Rage Remix still offered much more shape downlane!
Summary: MOTIV’s lineup is currently very complete, but they continue to find ways to fill in the gaps. The Primal Rage Remix is a breath of fresh air for me. When the Primal Rage Remix was released that was all I threw for a long period of time. I think the Primal Rage Remix is going to be a very similar situation.
