I'm thinking about this in terms of those who carry only two or three balls with them. Some of us who carry what basically amounts to a mobile pro shop around with them should be able to get by relatively easily with some other stuff. But the majority of bowlers don't and they are the ones who will be hurt the most immediately. If at least one of their balls is a Jackal or a Jackal Carnage then that's a huge loss in their arsenal not only because of a ball (or two) being taken out but because of the lane conditions those balls cover in their bag. When Motiv starts sending out their replacements, which balls and possible layouts should they choose to help replicate what they're missing?

My guess is the Revolt Havoc and Primal Rage Remix are pretty much the only real options to go with here to handle the heavier amounts of oil. Am I wrong in thinking that? There seems to be the option to wait and get a future release of the Jackal (or whatever it might end up being called instead), but some people might not be able to afford to wait until then and need their replacement(s) as soon as possible. Another option might be getting a replacement ball and then selling or trading it in immediately to get a ball that might fit their heavier oil needs (like another asymmetrical, which doesn't exist at the moment in Motiv's lineup) from a different company.

Thoughts?

I personally do not see that switch either. I think the Remix is skid snappish whereas the original Jackal is very rolly for a pearl (strong cover and lower RG)

So maybe the Revolt Vengeance then, but still more a round peg to fit in a square hole.

Motiv also took down the bit about getting a future release of the Jackal as a replacement so it will be really interesting to see what options are offered. If it's all symmetrical and/or weaker options then there might be quite a few people disappointed even with a new ball.

The other Motiv products are very good. I see no reason a similar Motiv product could not be similar, although not exact.

At Motiv's recommendation, I've decided to go with the Primal Rage Remix with the 70x40@4 No Hole drilling pattern. It's the strongest layout for the ball especially for someone like me who throws the ball slightly faster than average. It also reduces the skid-flip on the ball to give it more of a continuous hook and roll. I'm getting it Saturday,

I'll then use my trade-in on the next version of whatever replaces the Jackal Carnage whenever it comes out.
