Do you guys think the Revolt is equivalent to the Marvel S?

From what i've seen (I own a Revolt, tossed my buddies Marvel-S a few times), the Marvel-S is a little stronger overall, but I find the Revolt a little more continuous in the I can chase a pattern in and still use the Revolt, while the Marvel-S seems to transition too quick and fade on the backend when moving deep.

Overall strength they aren't terrible different i'd say, but I think on a fresh shot the Marvel-S tends to be a couple boards more overall.

Thanks for the response. I will try one of them but i am intrigue by the Revolt. Motiv has come a long way and their product keeps on getting better. Plus they do not have a ton of pieces so you can definitely keep your arsenal to a good number.

The Revolt is closer to the Zero Gravity. With the same surface and drilling, they should be very close. The Marvel-S is sooner and smoother. The Marvel-S also needs a good amount of head oil to not "burn up."

Zero is really long. I have one. The revolt looks earlier.

From local customers, that is my experience. Have you looked at the new Roto Grip Sinister? That ball will turn some heads.

I can't speak on the Marvel S, but I've got both the Revolt and the Zero Gravity. Horses of different colors. They are similar in overall hook. Only a couple boards different really, the Revolt being slightly weaker, but that's where the similarities end. Zero is much cleaner and snappier on the back. Revolt is more even but seems to drive through the pins a bit better.

I agree with Motiv coming a long way and recently added 2 balls from them.  Having thrown the Revolt for about a month now and then seeing the Zero Gravity thrown, they're pretty close.  Matt Fortney describes the differences well.  The Zero will be more angular but the Revolt tends to have more of an even arc shape and it hits really hard in the back.

I think it's just going to depend on the overall shot shape you're looking for.  If you want something more angular, the Zero Gravity may fit you better.  If you want something that has more of an even arc shape, the Revolt will be the better choice.

I drilled up a Revolt with a simple layout. Pin 3-1/2 from PAP with the CG under ring under the midline. I got to throw it the last few weeks in my PBA league on the new Scorpion 47ft. I am playing them pretty straight of course but the Revolt rolls good. I am impress so far. Has anyone thrown the Raptor Talon?

Glad you like the Revolt.  I've been finding that it works well, especially on slicker patterns like you mentioned with the 47 ft. Scorpion.  We have a place near me with Brunswick Anvilane that uses a slick 43ft shot and it tends to be a little flatter/heavier volume.  Same thing- square up, play straighter and/or limit the angles until it opens up, and the Revolt works very nicely on it.

I haven't thrown the Talon.  But looking at BTM ratings, it is only 1 point below the Defiant (59 for the Defiant, 58 for the Talon).  Either way, it is one of the strongest oil balls available.
