The ALL NEW ** Cruel Intent ** from MOTIV Bowling *Vid Live*
« on: October 15, 2013, 02:04:46 PM »

The Cruel Intentâ„¢ is a dominating power pearl for heavy oil.  It is the cleanest and most angular asymmetric ball MOTIVâ„¢ has ever produced.

At the heart of the Cruel Intentâ„¢ is the huge Sinisterâ„¢ core.  It harnesses asymmetry to boost track flare and promote proper transition in very low friction environments.

Proven to be a very angular and continuous cover, Fusionâ„¢ Pearl Reactive technology is used on the Cruel Intentâ„¢.  This shell is special because it is produces both incredible angle and devastating continuation.

I've ordered a Cruel Intent, and I'm thinking about how to have it drilled up. In looking at Justin's video, layout #3 (70x5x70) seems to clearly stand out as the biggest moving pattern of the three.

I've never drilled a asymmetric with the pin below the fingers on the center grip line and the MB in the strong position below the thumb. I understand that I don't throw the ball as well as Justin and our PAPs are different, but does this layout really have the potential to hook as much as the video suggests??

Do you know your specs?  It might need to be tweaked a bit.  Just make sure to use the layout measurements off your PAP, and not their placement to the grip.

PAP is 5.5, and .5 up.

I'm guessing with the 70x5x70 and my PAP, that would put the pin more under the ring finger rather than on the center grip line. I understand that based on my PAP, there would have to be a tweak from your layout in the video.

My bigger question is does this layout really produce more hook than I'm seeing over the other two layouts? When you threw the three ball over the same target. layout #3 not only went Brooklyn, but missed the headpin completely. Any perspectives would be appreciated. Thanks.

Need to know your specs to say for sure.  For a lower tilt rev dominant player you will see the same result.  If you are speed dominant a hole or surface tweak might be needed.

I've never had a CATS analysis, so I can't give specific numbers. I'm about 16.25 mph at the pin deck (Quibica), 300-325 rpms, and have a higher tilt. I'm definitely not speed dominant -- I think I have a good balance of speed to revs.

Through lots of experimentation (i.e. ball whore  :) ), I've found my benchmark layout for asymmetric equipment to be pin above the fingers on the vertical grip line, MB in the strong position (1 - 1.5") to the right of the thumb. It provides for a smooth midland with controllable pop on the backend. I'll adjust the surface as needed to fine tune reaction.

What intrigued me about your #3 layout was how much deeper you got with impressive recovery. I was thinking of trying out to something new instead of the the same old 'tried and true' layout.
