Boy, I'd sure like to know this too.  I watched some videos of this ball with different layouts where it just looked great, but that was on wood lanes.  I'd like to know how it does on slick synthetics.

The LE is comparable to the Taboo/Alpha Max/250k.  I would give it a fair estimate of a board or two less overall.

Apparently this ball has some core/cover issues as I can't make mine hook, even after some adjustments.  I would just get a Nano if you want something that really picks up the lane.  This ball has some serious problems.

Russell,
The BALL does not have serious problems. What needs to be taken into effect is the strength of the core and the numbers. This ball is like 1 of 4 or 5 that have maxxed out specs on core strength.....060 RG and .030 on MB differential, very strong.....basically the core wants to start up as soon as it leaves your hand. My guess is it drilled to strong and burning up on you, dying. I drilled 2 before I found that magic spot were it was to my liking and then drilled 1 more. I went with a layout of 60 x 4 x 55 on mine that I like alot. Here is some info. from another staffer and his thoughts on drilling the CRUEL and CRUEL LE.....They like drilling angles between 55 - 65 and VAL angles between 40-55, and pin distances of  4 1/2 to 5. Start with no hole and throw it, then place the hole as needed to get you the shape you want and then adjust the surface.....hope this helps alittle

Yours is an Original Cruel, not an LE Randy.  The LE is significantly stronger than the Original, to the tune of 5 or 6 boards.  Not quite as strong as the Nano, but right now nothing is.

The ball doesn't have serious problems, yours was an isolated incident where you simply didn't match up.

I must be the exception to the rule cause I didn't like the Nano and couldn't find it very usable. I've seen others struggle with the Nano, but I did like the Cruel and can't imagine the LE being stronger. I didn't match up to the Nano, but that doesn't make it a bad ball! What works for one doesn't work for another and a lot is the layout that is chosen! Just my $.02, Bruce

You're right...it is an original not an LE.  As far as it being slight bit weaker..it's the weakest thing in my arsenal right now...right next to my Natural.  Not matching up is an understatement, and after wasting money on the ball and not having any remote answer to why...I'm just a little bit annoyed.

The 15 boards cited in my comments on the Motiv boards is not an exaggeration...and as I told Brett...the fact that no explanation can be given has completely scared me away from these balls.

I think I gave you a explanation....?
--Not the proper layout for you on a ball that is ungodly strong per the numbers. I would like to see a picture of the ball and layout and your specs too.....

Actually I plugged it and redrilled it per Justin's recommendation....pics of both layouts are in the Motiv forums along with all discussion.
