I am getting a Revolt Vengeance to fit between my Jackal and my Sigma Sting.
The Jackal is too strong for my normal house shot right now, but will be great if I see more oil at tournaments. The Sting at box finish can go through the break point sometimes, but is fairly angular and great when things start to open up.
Since I play the left side, I can get away with no more than 2 strike balls plus a spare ball for most 3 game sets and rarely see the heads dry out. So the plan for my normal house is for the Vengeance to be first ball out followed by the Sting if I start leaving corners. I would like these balls to be fairly close on a house shot with the Sting going just a bit cleaner and semi-angular at the breakpoint.
The Sting layout is about 50 x 4.5 x 40 with a small p3 hole - which puts the pin less than an inch above my ring finger. If I am looking for the Vengeance to be slightly stronger and more controlled on the fresh house shot, I am thinking I want the VAL angle bigger (lower pin) right?
Here's the main question: I really like the idea of drilling out the pin for the ring finger (40 x 4.5 x 50 p3), but is the Vengeance different enough from the Sting for me to use this layout and still see the difference between balls that I want? Has anyone out there had both of these balls? Thanks!
