The Raptor has taken flight! *Vid*
« on: June 14, 2011, 04:43:37 AM »
Introducing the all new Motiv Raptor P7.

This is the most exciting ball release from MOTIV yet.  One amateur test bowler said it is the best ball he has ever bowled in his life!  One PBA touring pro said it is the best ball he has thrown in 10 years!

Bottom line - the Raptor P7 dominates on heavy oil.  It is clean through the heads to give you excellent length and then it unleashes on the backend with incredible continuation.  This ball reaction is powered by new Formula-7 Reactive coverstock and the new Predator Asymmetric inner core.

And, by the way, it just may be the hottest looking ball on the market.

Talk about shelf-appeal!

CONDITION: Heavy Oil
COVERSTOCK: Formula-7 Reactive
INNER CORE: Predator Asymmetric
FINISH: 4000 wet sand
15# RG 2.46, DIFF .060, INT .015
WWRD: July 22, 2011

The Raptors to be used in the upcoming full length reaction video, due early next week.

55x65@4.5"  P3 Hole

nice

Be good, or be good at it.

This ball is incredible, got to see it tested and see the actual release ball in action last night. The ball just doesn't quit at all, has such great continuation on the backend, this is Motiv's answer to the Virtual Gravity Nano.
And the green logos look awesome, ball looks even better in person than in those pictures.

finnally a new strong ball release and Asymmetric. Hopefully it will have some good early definition in the reaction which this company has been lacking.

Why 4000 grit though?

Will it be as strong as the Nano on the backend

So many good balls that are coming out this summer and this one looks the best. I was actually hoping for a skid/flip pearl but this is just fine with me.

I think that's a question everyone that follows Motiv wants to know.

Having never personally thrown a Nano, this conclusion is my opinion based on observation...

I would place the Raptor to be within a board or 2 of an equivalently drilled and surfaced Nano.  But, I guarantee the strength of reaction will last longer and return to full original strength after extraction upon saturation.

People like Justin is why I love Motiv so much. Knowledgeable, honest opinion. I would agree that the strength of the reaction will last longer if properly maintained. I heard of peoples Nano's already fading out.

How do you think the overall reaction will compare to the Cruel LE? I have one NIB that I will need advice on drilling later this summer.

For me, the Raptor with the same layout as my le, is a foot or two longer and 4 or 5 more on the back.  Once it starts, it keeps on going.
