« on: September 21, 2015, 08:51:13 PM »
what cover is cleaner up front? I have the tag and considering another or the octane for the deep lines.
The harder I try the harder they fall

How is your Tag drilled sixpack?  What about it don't you like for deeper inside use?

The Octane's Agilityâ„¢ SFX (Skid Flip Xtreme) Reactive OOB 5000 LSS (not sure if solid, hybrid or pearl?) and the Tag's Agility MXR Solid Reactive 5500 LSS are both pretty strong covers IMO.  In 15's the Octane's 2.55 .043 Quadfire to the Tag's 2.55 .038 Halogen makes the Octane stronger core wise.

I don't have an Octane but have some friends that use one but they are more speed dominant and average to lower rev.  I just got a Tag drilled pin over ring 4.75" pin to PAP that is my ball that I go to inside after my Venom Shock.  I took the cover down from OOB 5500 LSS hand scuffed to a less shine 4000.  It picks up where the Venom Shock is reading the mids a bit early and leaving flat tens.   The Tag has better continuation.  The Venom Shock pin in ring is my light-medium ball and the Tag lighter for inside use.

From what I have seen, the Octane seems more allergic to oil than the TAG.  The Octane can be very finicky and can easily squirt past the breakpoint if there isn't a defined dry spot.

been bowling with the Octane for a few weeks now. don't know why this ball seems to have gotten a bad rap, shot a 246 right out of the box. only complaint I have is the cover is a little strong so I polished it up really good.it would start rolling out on me later in the set but found a great reaction using my buddy's rebel tank, next on my gotta get list.
