Thoughts on the Primal Shock
« on: February 15, 2023, 11:52:49 AM »
I used my new Primal Shock last night.

If you liked the Primal Rage, you are going to LOVE this ball, especially on a house shot.

It gets good length and has a nice smooth move off the friction, more angular than rounded, but not harsh like some balls.

I started the night with a Storm Phaze III, but wasn't getting the look I usually do, so I gave the Primal a try and my shot improved dramatically. On flatter and/or long patterns, I suspect it will need more surface than the 4K OOB. I would guess 3K would work nicely.

I can see this ball being useful at the USBC Open Championships when my squad bowls later this year, but we will see. It SEEMS to be very controllable.

The ball looks great, especially when going down lane (for those who care about such things).

I used my standard drilling of Pin 1 inch above ring, CG directly below. My PAP is 5 Over, 0 Up/down. If you want angles, do the math.

I am not a staffer, and I don't throw Motiv exclusively. The previous is just my experience and opinions. Your mileage may vary.
