Tribal
« on: August 29, 2013, 02:54:23 PM »
Just saw this new release on Facebook.  Thing looks awesome . .
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

The Motiv site has it listed as Dry/Medium oil ball. I thought they had that niche covered with the Accents.

I'll go out on a limb and say - Same volume, different shape... for ~$65 more

The Marauder was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it.

Ball down from the Primal Rage same cover with new core.  Rather than the low Rg Venom balls this is higher Rg with a medium total diff.  This covers where the QZ balls were with a stronger cover and new core.

I am looking forward to seeing it and using it.

Looks like a direct competitor for the gold ball

With the gold ball being a low RG, Low Diff Pearl with a strong cover? Sounds more like the Venom Toxin to me(other than the Toxin being a hybrid  ;D ).

Motiv has no direct ball that you could compare a IQ Tour Pearl.  No low Rg pearl with a strong cover.  Of all the Motiv balls the closest would be a Thrash Frenzy in ball motion strong cover but higher Rg Quadfire core.

If Motiv ever comes out with a Sigma Tour Pearl that would be it's closer comparison.

I was talking real world reaction. Not necessarily a direct mirroring of the numbers.

That's what I am talking about since I have rolled most of the balls mentioned.  The Thrash Frenzy right now is closest in ball motion to the IQ Tour Pearl.  IF Motiv made a Sigma Tour Pearl with a lower RG and strong cover it would be a better comparison.

Though it's no longer in production, the GT1 was probably Motiv's closest ball in core numbers and in general coverstock performance to the IQ Tour Pearl:

I suspect, however, that the GT1's coverstock is a degree or two weaker than the R2S on the IQTP.

BTM numbers on

Thrash Frenzy Torque 7.5, length 15, backend 17.5 total hook 49
IQ Tour Pearl Torque 7.0, length 14, backend 16.5 total hook 51

Though not a complete comparison a place to start.  I've rolled a IQ Tour Pearl and the two are a very close fit.

Fusion Pearl on Tribal will be stronger than Whiplash Pearl on Thrash Frenzy but total diff smaller.
