I used my new Odyssey Saturday night on a flat pattern. The pattern had 28 mL of volume, oiled to 35 ft and brushed to 40. The pattern had a max ratio of 1.47 to 1. I didn't catch the name of it though.
After throwing the Odyssey in shadow, it looked like way too much ball for the conditions, so I put it away until later in the set. Once carry down created a slick spot in front of the pocket, I brought the Odyssey back out, increased my speed from 14 to around 17, reduced my angles and had great success the last game.
My drilling is pin in the ring finger and MB 2 inches right of the edge of the thumb hole. I have no idea what the angles are. My PAP is 5 over 0+/-, so if you want drilling angles used, do the math.
Final thoughts, strong ball, but not as strong as the original Trident and not even in the league of the Abyss. I have not thrown a Trident with the Sidewinder core, so I can't help you there. This ball should be usable on a house shot if the user has good ball speed and later in the set to get left when the urethane kiddies has creating a lot of carry down.
From a one time use, this ball should be helpful to have on flatter patterns once they have broken down a little.
The preceding is just my opinion from a single outing, your results may vary.
