The Octane Carbon is a totally new ball despite carrying the Octane name.  It brings a new dual density Injector core with the Agitator MXR pearl overstock.  This cover is something special being incredibly clean with easy length while producing new shapes for MOTIV on the back part of the lane.  Those who are more forward with their ball roll will see the Octane Carbon as clean and smooth while those with a good deal of axis rotation will love the angle they can create.  This tells me the Octane Carbon is able to create lots of shapes which means many style will like this ball and those who make small tweaks to their delivery will be able to see those great results.  This ball is in the light-medium oil range and on the angular side of the ball chart.  This impressive piece of high performance engineering is super responsive and corners hard!  You will want this ball in your bag!

Thank you for the review. Right now, as it stands, it's a toss up between the Octane Carbon and the Radical Cyclops. I'm leaning towards the Motiv ball but both sound interesting and I might have to have both in the long run.  ::)

The marketing details around this ball and the spec sheet leads me to believe this could play similar to the Hy-Road Pearl...hmm.
Current Rotation:
PhysiX
Code X
Code Black
Axiom Pearl
Phaze III
Trend
IQ Tour

Ball makers details (descriptions) don't really do it for me. Sure, I'll read their opinions, but reviews from players (bowlers) is what I look for for any new ball coming out (thank you Ball Reviews). My present "go to" ball is the HyRoad, but having knocked the shine off my Wrecker to 3000 grit, I'm sure liking what it does of late. My buddy used to try and throw a HyRoad Pearl, but found he had a hard time controlling it and sold it when he couldn't. Personally I think he put way to much hand (rev's) into it, but that's just me I suppose.  ::) This Octane Carbon WILL be in my bag before my birthday next month as a early present to me.  ;D Looking forward to having it in my bag.

UPDATE: 5/29/17: Bought the Octane Carbon 5/24. Had it drilled up and went bowling with it soon after. Took some getting use to, to say the least. A 97-147-147 and was switching up with my HyRoad. Put the HyRoad to bed and determinedly threw only the Carbon for a 188-188-224 = 600 series. Very forgiving ball and I need to get back to bowl a few more games to see what's shaking with this ball. All in all, I feel good about it and it will reside in my 3 ball bag with the HyRoad and my Wrecker.  UPDATE #2. On my home alleys which are medium @ best, usually lightly oiled, I had to polish the ball to combat the hook down lane. Seems to work better now on the home lanes. 201-219-252. Liking it so far.  ::)

This ball is very tempting, as it does look like a hyroad pearl as Alonzo mentioned; I missed on that one, but may have to pull the trigger on this one.

Thought I would put my $.02 in. Being a staffer I got my Octane Carbon in March. A week before going to the Wis State tournament. I can't say enough about how well this ball carries for me. Used it all nine games at state in Green Bay for 2242 scratch AE with an 807 in team. I have it drilled with the pin below the bridge. My favorite series has been the Revolt's with the Vanquish core but the Carbon rolls so good on a variety of conditions it's hard to put away. It makes a nice move on the back end but still seems to be controllable.

I have one.  OOB it was pretty squirty when the oil carried down lane.  Took the surface to 1500 and that seems to have solved the squirty downlane reaction.  I'll know more on Wednesday night after league.

so, this balk isn't your true light oil dry lane ball with the shiny cover?
Does a round object have sides? I say yes, pizza has triangles..

Modified the surface you say? But not what you did to it? Would be curious of course if you are willing to pass that on to others. I enjoy my Carbon, but you are right, just a wee bit "squirty". Works best as the lane oil carries down and into the 2nd or 3rd games of a set. Thanks for your observations on this ball. I really enjoy it, but it's sure not a "1st" out of the bag ball, @ least for me, not yet.  ::)
