Issues with Primal Scream.. Help needed...
« on: October 23, 2012, 02:44:26 PM »
I recently punched one of these up and am very disappointed in the back end reaction I am getting. It just seems to skid forever and then when it starts to flip, its too late and hits weak. I drilled it 3 3/8 pin to pap which is a strong drilling. This places the pin above the ring and just to the right with the cg straight under just outside the palm area. I have spoken to Justin and he suggested I dull it to a 1000 abralon which I did and that did not help on the my problems at all, if anything it was worse. He has now suggested 2K abralon and polish which I am going to try this week. Justin says I drilled it "too strong" which puzzles me as I have had this drilling on many other balls and never had this reaction problem.

I trust Justin and what he is saying/suggesting, I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar issue with this ball and if anyone has tried it with polish.

I really hate to plug a redrill a ball that is not even 2 weeks old.

I drilled mine pin above the bridge and cg right of centerline and above midline! This ball for me has a huge move at the breakpoint.  I did hit the surface with Bean's Secret Sauce and then real light with a worn 4000 abralon pad to leave some shine! The ball is a backend monster!!! I go to this ball after the 2 Cruel is too much ball and I can use the Primal Scream without moving left! Just my $.02, Bruce

What is your axis rotation? Now a days 3 3/8 is "old school" thinking of hook. You get just as much flare with 4 to 5 inch drillings. There is such a thing as tooo strong. When you drill it soo early you get all front and mid hook with nothing left down lane. If you get me those coordinates I can help you along.
PAP
Axis Rotation
Ball Speed
Rev Rate

Giving these , we can help determine what will work for you and not keep you in the same old school thought.
