A Little late to the party, but here is my review of the Jackal Legacy. Thoughts, feedback and anything else is more than welcome!
The Jackal Legacy will help every bowler cross more boards and it will create more friction and great continuation on heavy oil conditions.
The Jackal Legacy is great option for speed dominant bowlers who are looking for maximum hook potential and for bowlers competing on high volume oil patterns.
I had the chance to try this ball on our fresh house shot pattern and the Jackal Legacy is definitely one of the strongest balls I have ever thrown. I had to play deeper than usual to keep the ball in the pocket. I had to play close to the third arrow and a breakpoint out of 8, being careful of not hitting the friction too soon, or the ball would go sideways.
The Jackal Legacy offers a strong midlane read and a smooth and predictable motion down the lane. It is very, very strong and yet, somehow it still provides a strong backend motion unusual on this kind of equipment.
Most of my misses outside ended up hitting the pocket almost every time, with a great carry percentage. Later in the session I started leaving some flat corner pins, so I had to move even deeper to keep carrying. Misses inside weren’t as forgiving, the coverstock and core combination is so strong that most of the times the ball was going sideways as soon as the Legacy hit the friction. I liked the fact of how this ball was able to blend the pattern, the ball was never unpredictable or hard to read, and it made it hard for me to miss the pocket, even on my bad shots. Truly impressive.
Being a low rev bowler, balls like the Jackal Legacy makes me feel like one of the big guys playing on parts of the lane that I could never play with weaker equipment. The Legacy will be a great option for low rev and speed dominant bowlers on a different variety of conditions. The Jackal Legacy will be a great option to use on fresh oil and on house patterns with heavier volumes of oil.
I hate clichés and those things bowling companies use to describe their products. Phrases like “Hits like a truckâ€, “unbelievable continuation†or “this ball is a must haveâ€, etc, etc. But with this ball I have to use one of those clichés to describe the ball and it is CONTINUATION.
Overall, I feel that the Jackal Legacy is a great addition to the Motiv lineup. It is definitely the strongest Jackal ever produced and a great option for a lot of bowling styles. This ball will be a great option to use on a different variety of conditions. It will be the ball to go when you are facing heavy volumes of oil, a great weapon to use on a fresh house shots where you need to blend the pattern and it will also be a great option on flat patterns where you need to control the breakpoint.
If you liked the Alpha Jackal and the Jackal Ghost, then the Legacy is a must for you. The Jackal Legacy will be a nice step up from balls like the Forge Flare and a great complement to the Ghost or the Jackal Flash. At the end of the day you can’t go wrong with a Jackal.
Thank you for watching!
