Stock finish is P2000 grit + Power Gel Polish.
If there are few deep scratches, I'd sand it to P1000 or P1500 grit and then take it to P2000 grit. Then apply a medium coat of a good non-abrasive polish. I'd use Power Gel, Motiv's own, if it's available. If not, then Valentino's Snake Oil is a great non-abrasive polish. Powerhouse'sFactory Finish or 3M's Finnesse-It II polish will also work well.
If there's a heavy, deep track or lots of deep scratches, I'd start with P360, then use P500 grit, being careful to sand with each succeeding grit pad to remove the scratches of the previous one. Then do the above (P1000, then P2000 grit).
try to remove or reduce most of the deep scratches without removing too much of the coverstock.
You should refresh the coverstock's finish on a regular basis, depending on the wear level of the ball. Every 25 games or so is good starting point for this ball, again depending on the wear traits of your use.
