The coming of the Blue Tank
« on: March 03, 2022, 02:32:46 PM »
Have been waiting patiently for the NEW Blue Tank to take it's place among the new ball released status. Plenty of articles on the Purple Tank, but not so much for the Blue. Any idea on expected release date and difference from the Purple Tank? Thanks!

The two ball packs typically ship 10-14 days before the release date if they ordered as soon as they are listed available to order. Release date of the blue tank is May 18, so Id say the 9th would be realistic to start seeing them.

Just in time for me to take to Nationals! I leave on the 21st so regardless I should be good to go. Thinking about drilling a 2nd Blue Tank as well....

Probably will be taking some mix of the following:

1. Blue Tank #1
2. Blue Tank #2
3. Desert Tank
4. Covert Tank
5. Tank Blitz
6. Purple Tank
7. Venom Recoil
8. Spare ball

That's a lot of urethane for the patterns I just experienced. And the Venom Recoil is not enough ball to make up the difference.

Even on the left side? Our side is usually sooooo squeaky clean.....

I threw a Brunswick poured Purple Hammer last year for 8+ of the 9 games....

We had some lefties and they had the same issues. I saw urethane used effectively during Singles by a few, but not in Team and Doubles. But that was just a limited observation in my group and the sets I observed.

The UC3 had the best look of the urethane balls I saw being thrown, but I put mine right back in the bag and did much better with the Hy-Road, even in the last game of singles. I'm more speed dominate though.

Gotcha - thanks for the notes.

I will throw a Shock into the mix then as well. The Coral probably won't make the cut...

I loved the look of my Coral in practice, but there was a lot more friction in the bowling center. The tournament venue played longer than what we saw in our practice session.

I booked a practice session as well.

The Bowling Center ALWAYS has way more friction than the Plaza - so no doubt about the pattern playing longer in the Plaza.
