I'm just wondering, since I plan to shoot the ABT doubles there this weekend.  What kind of surface is it, and how do they usually play?  Just wondering if anyone here has any experience there.

I'm not a bowler, but I do play one on Ballreviews.

Splendorlex,
3D is a 24 lane center with Pro Anvilane, installed within the past five years, if I recall properly.

I can tell you how they play in league, which is fairly easy, but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to ABT.  3D is Mike Fagan's home center, and he knows enough people there that he will probably get them to put out something less Chinese, if you catch my drift.

This is a different Mike Fagan.    What can you guys tell me about Pro Anvilane in general?  That's what they're putting in the new center my league will be moving into in November.  We're on wood right now, how would it compare?

Splendorlex,
Pro Anvilane is the slickest synthetic surface out there.  Wood, in general, has more friction.

That being said, the way they play will depend on how they are dressed.

Synthetic surfaces that you have played on (that I know of) are Anvilane (Hawthorn, Lombard, Fair Haven) and HPL (Rolling Meadows, Elk Grove).  Centers that I can think of that are Pro Anvilane are 3D (obviously) and Classic (Morton Grove).

Thanks all, I have bowled at the Zone in Lake Zurich, and I HAVE noticed it's a lot slicker than what I'm used to!

The surface is known as "Proanvile HANG"

Its the hardest of all lane surfaces. If oil gets to the breakpoint...Look out..SQUIRT/Hang!!
