Thirty,
I don't know if your question was addressed specifically to Andy, but I'll take a chance and answer it.
If you would like to join ABT, you may do so on site at most of their tournaments, including the one coming up this weekend at Classic. All you need to do is show up about an hour before the squad time you would like to bowl. Bring a copy of your most recent league sheet from the league in which you had the highest average this past season (if you bowled more than one league). Go into the checkin room and tell someone that you would like to join. They will give you an application, which you should fill out. On top of the application is a space for the name of the person who referred you. If you know someone, like Andy, put his (or her) name in that space (if you don't know of anyone, just put my name
). Once you have filled out the application, the director will sit down with you and explain the rules and procedures to you. After that, you will be able to check in, pay your first year's annual membership fee and the tournament entry fee, and bowl.
If you are thinking ahead to possibly entering the Chicagoland Open, you would need to enter this weekend's event four times (re-entries are permitted). The reason for that is that, to be eligible to bowl in the Chicagoland Open, you must have four tournament entries between the first of this year and the beginning of the Open.
Finally, ABT does have a website. It is:
http://www.amateurbowlerstourchgo.com/If you have any questions, feel free to PM me, and I'll be happy to answer them.
Maybe I'll see you this weekend, since I plan to be at Classic, myself.
Good luck!
