« on: February 05, 2009, 12:51:14 AM »
Just thought I'd throw this one out there early.  I know it says it's for local bowlers only, but if you join our local association ($15) then you can also enter.  This is the 3rd tournament and there will be more so join in and step up to the challenge.

Where:
Liberty Lanes
115 L W Besinger Drive
Carpentersville, IL 60110
(847) 428-7020

I cant speak for the past, but the center has a new owner. Jerry Moreno. The place is changing. Bill Monce now has a pro shop in the center.

Man, I would love to bowl in a tournament like this but that is a 2.5 hour hike for me, and that makes it a bit unreasonable unfortunately.

Well I'm sorry to hear that it's not a nice place.  Unfortunately, it's not my tournament and I have no say in where it's held at.  Tom Carter hosts it, and he wants to move it to different centers around Illinois.

I'm sorry to hear that it's so far off from you Mike.  I agree-I wouldn't travel that far either.  There's a lot of bowlers that say they want stuff like this, but when it's available they won't bowl it.  I'm not meaning this about you, but about all the people within a reasonable distance that complain and then won't man up.

Since Tom owns the shop in Vernon Hills, I'm sure there will be one there soon enough.  We will see then what kind of turnout there is.

Yeah man I hear you, there are way to many people that say they will but then don't go. I just draw the line at an 1.5 hour drive, I just can't find it being worth it unless I can get others to go with. I'm sure though that Tom will have one on the other side of Chicago, he talked about doing a few more and spreading them around last time I ran into him.

Eligibility:
USBC participants must be members of Rockford, Belvidere, Freeport, Rochelle, Dixon, DeKalb, Mendota, Ill. Valley, Chicago, and Ottawa USBC Associations.

But,if you are a member McHenry County USBC,it's an additional $15.00?
That's kinda screwed up.McHenry USBC is MORE LOCAL than alot of those other places.

The more I practice,the luckier I get.
