If you are willing to drive to Kalamazoo, Scott Brunner at Airway Lanes is great.

My buddy sent the pro shop guy at Royal Scott 4 emails. He didn't respond. He talked to him on phone and he said he would send me the email. Never did. That doesn't sound like good customer service to me!

Dave is in the pro shop 50+ hours a week and 6 days a week.  This time of year the shop is busy due to bowlers preparing for local, state and national tournaments.

I've attempted to be the contact for individuals online due to his lack of interest in that aspect of the business.

Please do not judge his level of customer service unless you've physically stepped foot into his shop.  His bottom line does not rely on internet sales of new old stock.

Customer service these days is about more than just what you do in person. Not knocking Dave but 4 emails and a phone call without getting the response you are looking for is pretty bad. I am sure he is a busy man but honestly it takes about 5-10 minutes out of your day to sit down and address communications with your customers.

It is the first thing I do when I walk in my shop. I call, email, message, or whatever is needed for my customers. I don't sell online very much and it can be a pain but this is all part of the business nowadays.

That still leaves 118 hours in a week to return a call or send an email. Just common courtesy imho.

I'm sorry, No one is perfect and some people have a life outside of work and bowling...

As I stated before, in the past, I've gone out of my way to help bowlers here find tough to locate NIB old stock. I don't work for Dave and this isn't something that Dave is set up to deal with.

He runs one of the largest volume pro shops in the state and does not need to sell equipment over the internet or phone to remain competitive.

Former Exempt, if you or your buddy want customer service for internet sales feel free to stick to online retailers since that's what they are structured to deal with.  I see hard to find balls on eBay all the time...

Mr. O'Connell, your shop is listed on Facebook, so I'm sure your business practices are going to be structured differently than Mr. Spohn's since he is not actively online to the same extent you are.

J_mac, glad you made it crystal clear customer service is something you nor Royal Scot believe in. You keep responding with poor or no excuse for why a person can't take 5 minutes to respond to an email or return a call. No one asked him to do it just to be competitive. My buddy said the dude told him would send the list.

Did he lie??

Dave Spohn is the real deal in Lansing or you could go to a guy that reply's to emails and drills a ball like poop? Your choice and your money.

Scott Bruner is good too but if you have the chance Pilon is the jedi master of ball drilling.

Good luck.

Lie? No... Forget? Most likely...

I haven't been involved in this "transaction", for lack of a better word, so I have no idea what has been said or agreed upon.

If I was involved in this we wouldn't be having this conversation.  I usually go out of my way to take care of the people I'm dealing with because I'm hoping to be treated the same way.

J-Mac,

I believe you would.....

I saw the e-mails. It was 3 or 4 emails and a phone call in which he said he would send a price list. That is not forgetting in my book, PERIOD.

No sweat of my back and I am done posting after this about it...

I just wanted this to be out there!
