100% Figjam-Wisconsin State Bowling tourney
« on: March 22, 2008, 02:11:15 PM »
Just got back from Wisconsin State Tournament.

Team-761(shot 3430 w/handicap, currently around 35th)
Doubles-684
Singles-710, currently around 30th
All-Events-2155 scratch, good enough for second as of 3/23.

Had a great look the entire weekend.  Were it not for a couple of brain burps, it could have been a lot better.

Second time in four years I shot 2100+ all-events.  Makes it all worth while when you can put your talent to use and make some money.

MI, thanks.

To give you an example of how well things went, of the 16 brackets I chose to enter, I made the finals of 14 of them.  Of those I made the finals, I went 14 for 14.

John that sounds very familiar to me.  I also bowled state this weekend.  I shot 748 in singles first game first 5 than spare spare open open.  Changed balls finished with front 9 stone 10 for 278 and end with 256, shot 588 doubles went 216, 155, 217.  2 7-10's 4-9 and a couple of brain farts.

Team at Super Bowl started out 278, than first five frames where good then brain fart again shot 156 then changed hand position and shot 247.  Ended up shooting 2016 for all events which is not bad with 2 150's but could of been so much better.

Nice bowling John!  Sounds like conditions have become quite a bit easier from the scores you and Derek report from what it started out as. Scores were quite low except for a few here and there in Jan/Feb.  Of course, it really depends on pairs you drew at Fox Valley.

Nice shooting, Derek.  Dontcha just love looking back on all of those mistakes and wonder, "What if..?"

scott, are you trying to say that there was a discrepancy in the shot that we faced versus the shot that's been used previously?

Do you think I had the same advantage of nine other bowlers on team event assisting to burn in a shot?  There's about five people in Watertown that have the slightest idea how to even do that.  Come on now, scott.  It's the indian, not the arrow!  I'm still the same house hack that struggled his butt off on a much easier LRL shot to the tune of 625 last Sunday...lol!

I think, it depends more on pairs you draw John and you're right teams that play together.  Mine tried to break our team pair down with lil avail.  Scores have gone up but that also could be temp. in building, weather conditions, etc.

In any case great bowling!!!

My one team may wind up in top ten at LRL....maybe not sure what happened last weekend.

John,

It was nice shooting.
Koolie won't tweak the shot.
I've never been the biggest fan of Super Bowl's approaches or lane conditions.
Carry is the issue there.
Can't say the same about the other house.
Fox Valley is a HOLE!!!!!
Place has gone down hill the last 4 years.

We bowled on the lower 2 pairs and I promise it was fun.

At Fox Valley we had doubles on 3-4 and singles were on 5-6.  Big difference in carry between the lanes for me.  Now on 3-4 I hit light a couple of times both resulting in 7-10 splits.  Got high a couple of times once getting a 4-9.  Troy Felisinger bowling on the left side on that pair got some good breaks and shot 740.  When we moved to 5-6 it seemed that carry was better for me but the shot was not as dead.  I moved inside and that was a big difference for me.  Troy on the other hand moved to that pair and seemed to have the carry problems that I was having on 3-4.  Super Bowl we bowled on 43-44 and that pair to me just seemed alot tighter than normal.

had 35-36 for Doubles and 31 and 32 for Singles I had no problem at all for doubles but the heads burnt out for singles and it was a real disaster but the shot was okay. Super We had guys throwing dull stuff slow up the track and then my team has three crankers that are right handed Torched it bad inside of one game.

Super's shot I had no issue with, it was hell of alot better than their THS,  but I wil agree with Bass and say the approaches are junk at Super Bowl.
Fox Valley was as Bass says junk a real hole.
