Title: Michigan State Tourny Oil Pattern
Post by: David Lee Yskes on December 23, 2008, 04:42:09 PM
Well i just seen on the website for the State tourny that its going to be Kegels Beaten Path.

It sounds like its basically a track-area type lane condition, but tougher.

Anyone have any advise on how to play it???  Or how they've played it before?

At Royal Scot (singles an doubles) you'll be bowling on Brunswick Proanvilane with synthetic approaches.

At Pro Bowl (team) you'll be bowling on AMF HPL and wood approaches that were resurfaced right before the season started this year.

I'm a resident of Lansing and can probably answer some basic questions if anyone has them.

Depending on your style but when I've played on this, I'm normally starting in the track and moving left from there not giving the 3 pin away. I've played as deep as over the left cap and played the rail on this pattern before. Again it all depends on how the topology of the house is, your style and how you break the pattern down.

thanks for the info,  I bowl on synthetics right now, but dont have a clue on what they are lol.   But on my second shift monday nite league, I generally start off doing a 20-10 type shot, depending on how the lanes are playing, since a womens league is before us.    I think once i had to start out playing right of 3rd arrow.   But I naturally play a deeper line anyways, since i tend to have higher than average revs.
