I assume this is on the Lincoln Lanes house shot?  If so, what kind of scores does it produce?  Me and some friends may make the trip down there if it isn't a complete shootout. Thanks.

This was NOT a well run tournament last year.  There was confusion as to what time the tournament started because it was posted wrong on their website (started at 9am, website said 10am.)  This resulted in some bowlers showing up late. The tournament director assigned the late folks to pairs of lanes with 5 people, while others still had 4.

 

5 games into the marathon, they stopped the tournament because a few pairs were 1.5 games ahead of others.  So, they reassigned the late folks to pairs with 4 people.  For me personally, this resulted in sitting around for an hour until everyone caught up.  We start back up with no practice.  First 4 to 5 frames of the next game, I'm just trying to get loose again.  I even asked for practice coming out of the break and the tournament director said no.

I haven't been back since, and from what I understand other tournaments have gone just fine.   I'm just saying my experience with this tournament last year wasn't good.

 

There was confusion on the time but the tournament stopped after 6 games to let the scores get caught up because some pairs did have 5 and others had 4.  Now 2 10 gamers ago they did stop and straighten out the people because some had 4 and others had 6 so it did take a while.  I actually suggested moving people after 5 games since they were gonna break anyway so we didnt have to wait 30-40 mins between games.  These guys just took over the center about 2 years ago and are still learning the tournament stuff so give them a break.  Luckily they are still running stuff being as the md/pa/va area is dying now on tournaments.  Besides, Baker, Walton, dual lanes, nellie fox and Rick at york, theres not a whole lot going on these days.
