2008 Champlain International Tournament conditions
« on: May 01, 2008, 03:52:18 AM »
Hi guys.  Just wondering if any of you have bowled in the 2008 Champlain International Tournament in Shelburne,VT yet to see what everyone thinks of the shot.  Heading up there the 16th and 17th and just wondering how the new lanes play.  Didn't make it there last year, but have heard the lanes still hook, which I don't mind.  I scored pretty good on the old lanes.  Wondering about equipment choices, lines people played, etc.  Thanx.

Roto4ever: Bring lots of speed and lots of loft to the lanes. Lower end has a touch more oil than the upper, but it doesn't stay around for long. Teams were brutal- I think I had oil for 5 frames and then had to look into my bag of hand positions, speed and loft to keep the ball around the pocket to post a 658 set. Since installing the synthetics getting to the pocket hasn't been the issue as much as carry.

Mostly used my Morich levRG and Hammer Toxic for the weekend- didn't need anything early rolling, needed length. If the breakpoint was around 8-10 board the carry was better than outside of that. I shot 2111 all total (693 singles, 760 doubles, 658 teams).

Good luck...

Sincerely,
Matt Coe
