Shoot was freakin brutal today at the NEBA. 41' pattern with a barrel of oil down the lane. The pattern would not let you open the lane up, if you went accross the pattern the ball would push or back up. i had to move up on the approach and slow roll it to get it to react. this took me back to real bowling, I don't know what the cut was because i set a blazing trail of fire to get out of there. I went -250 and -70 on the day with about 15-20 missed spares. I may go to the one in plainville, CT next month.

come to think of it it played like  the Scorpion pattern....long day it was

Was that what the pattern was out there Sunday?  Felt like the oil went all the way to the pin deck.  I tried the line Chris was playing, but even my new RS-P drilled strong wouldn't pick up a roll, just spin in the oil.  For me, I shot -120.  John Zawalick who won was playing deep, like over 4th arrow, nice and tight with The One and was able to have good carry, but if I tried it, the ball didn't have anything left for the pins.  Very tough shot like one that I've ever bowled on.  Good experience though, which is what I look for in NEBA tourneys.

Looking back in the NEBA archive that was the lowest cut in the last 2 years.
the shoot seemed like it had no front to back taper that why the ball never slow down.

Yeah, the at large was like -32 or something and Bill from Buddies needed to spare on the last ball to make that.  I haven't bowled on anything with that much puddle ever.  Ouch.  I think I needed to try to point the ball from the corner and come up pretty much up the back of the ball to try to let it read a little bit.  I need to practice on those longer patterns more.

Makes me wish that I had made the 2+hour drive down there...

..at a minimum I could've tried a harder pattern and watch my shop's owner win!

Sounds like something a lefty could have KILLED!

As they love to do this in many tournies.

Up a foot on approach..  tiny steps.  12 mph speed. keep up the revs and point!
High rg makes pointing so much easier.  Track Spell can handle 50 feet of oil and still strike!

I always see the righties still trying to swing with low rg particles.  The shot almost opens up and then they are done.

Yeah Chris, John bowled on the pair next to us and he was in the hole all day playing in around 4th arrow.  He had Bill Ray cross with him and Bill was throwing the Paradigm and he would just use slow speed with a ton of hand and the ball would push to about 10 and then turn the corner.  As you know, John was using The One and was playing similar line.  Wish I could have done something there, but oh well.  Experience, Experience, Experience.

This condition sounds almost like the shot that was used for the JBT Buddies Pro Shop Open.  Chris, was it the same pattern?  if it was, the juice was definitly squeezed far down the lane....

anyone cracking it up the ditch?

I was landing the ball on 2, and pointing it at the head pin.  I made the cut and lost first round.  It was a hard shot, and no swing, even with the guys that have a lot of hand.
