Green Mountain Open: Rutland, VT.
« on: March 05, 2009, 02:58:48 PM »
Anyone from ballreviews going to be there this year?  I am going to be there March 21-22.  It will be my fourth GMO, but my first since 2006.  Let me know if you're going, or if you go, let's hear how you did up there.  Good luck to everyone who is going this year!

James: I already went up this year with a crew of guys from Lowell and surrounding centers. Seemed similar to last year's shot, maybe a touch lower in volume in the middle. There is a decent look on the left this year- my first three sets for all events were between 742-785. Getting to the pocket was never an issue- carrying all the time seemed to be the major thing to look for. I got away with using two balls most of the weekend- levRG and Black Widow. One of my doubles partners posted an 836 set with a Playmaker, using a lot of loft to get the ball from reading too early.

Good luck when you go up there...

Matt

Nice bowling Matt, and thanks for the heads up.  I found the left side to play a little further out than I normally play up there, and the volume is never too high in the middle, that's for sure.  Sounds like it's going to be all about speed control up there again, which is fine.  All my sets were 650+ last time I went, so hopefully I can get some decent carry and score good this year.

Well, we're going to be leaving early Saturday morning for Rutland and the GMO.  I will give feedback on the lane conditions, and the scoring pace from the weekend when we get back on Monday.  If anyone from ballreviews is going this coming weekend, let me know on this thread or through pm.  We can meet face to face up there, thanks!

I'm leaving for Rutland in the morning with a group from Boston. This is my second year bowling the GMO, I didn't score very well last year so I'm hoping to do better this year!

In the bag...

Maxx Zone (green pad + Beans SS)
Solaris (360+ maroon pad + Beans SS)
Ultra Zone (360+ maroon+ 4000)
Avalance Slide (OOB)
Slate Blue Gargoyle (gold pad + trizact polish)
plus my trusty Blue Dot.
