Ya the carry did suck.  I couldn't carry anything.  I've never seen so many flat 10s in my life.  Wasn't just me it was everyone.  It wasn't just the 10 pin either.  A lot of people, including myself, were leaving 7, 8, 9, and even 5 pins.

Good luck to you.

Well, I'm up in Shelburne, VT this weekend for the Champlain International Open. I practiced last night before the start of my tournament bowling- the synthetics are playing a little tougher than the wood lanes. Ball speed and entry angle seem to be very crucial to carry. Then again I was bowling at the end of the night, so I doubt there was much in the way of backend movement. I seemed to carry better with  my Mystic and Toxic over the Black Widow. We will see over the weekend how things go- 2 team events, 2 sets of doubles and a set of singles.

I bowled the tourney last weekend. Once I got lined up, was able to hit the pocket pretty good but as others have mentioned, carry was tough. Hope it stays that way.
My team was now leading 3317 for scratch and my partner and I were leading the doubles as well - 1465. I doubt these scores will hold up since there are several weeks to go.
Good luck to all who go. The synthectics were nice and the shot seemed to hold up well.

Cosmo: As far as I know going into today, your 1465 scratch still leads. However there are a lot of big bowlers still yet to bowl the tournament (including a lot of NEBA regulars) so that may not hold up. My partner and I gave a run for it yesterday and came up 3 pins short at 1462 scratch, 1507 with handicap. We were able to make the right moves in transition, he shot 735 (2 splits were his only opens) and I shot a clean 727 (including making a 6-8 in game two). I struggled on the team pair we bowled on, had a 637 in singles though...

Two more sets for me today, another doubles set and another team set before we go home...

Update as of 4/29/07: The high doubles series scratch lead was overtaking late Saturday afternoon: the high is now 1467. So we are in 2nd in the handicap division and 3rd in the scratch division...

I noticed a stronger mid-lane move on the Sunday squads than yesterday. Had to fish in my bag for weaker looks. Shot 623 in my other doubles set (with a sad 153 first game as I reached in the bag for weaker looks) and a 647 in my final teams set (didn't carry well in game two...).

Oh well, our crew that went up there had a blast.
