40 Boards & A Ball will host the 2nd annual Opposites Attract Mixed Doubles at Bowl America in Glen Burnie, MD June 6-8, 2008. Last year, Opposites Attract hosted 39 teams from D.C., Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Friday

For those that were not in attendance last year, we sent out survey cards to the bowlers to solicit their thoughts about the tournament. We thought there would be an abundance of complaints about the condition. Area bowlers know Latise & I bowl tournaments, so we are more then willing to say the shot was as tough as can be. It played a lot different then envisioned, this years tournament will not be as "brutal" condition wise as last year.

Last year, after the 10 games of qualifying we cut straight to the cashers for Sunday, leaving the top 8 teams to battle it out. Some asked for us to bring more teams back on Sunday, so we have modified the format to bring back 1:3 teams on Sunday morning for 4 games of match play. The top ½ will advance to the cash round for an additional 4 games of match play.

The second annual Opposites Attract Scratch Mixed Doubles is coming! We saw some of our Ohio & Jersey family members this past weekend in Cleveland and they said they are coming back! We also were told that a Cleveland based bowling club is looking to bring some teams to make some noise come June.

For those that are putting it off, this is a good time to work on grabbing a partner. We have already been made aware of some local couples that have united to take their shot at being called Opposites Attract champions! Quintina Jefferson and Kenneth Lowe are sitting on the throne and posed to defend their title!
