RT's Tournament Results - Jan. 2nd
« on: January 03, 2010, 12:02:45 AM »
Everyone,

This was a great tournament and it was unfortunate that the entries were in the mid-20's.  There were 4 cashers with $475 for 1st and $70 for 4th.

Winner: Mike Leonard +63
2nd: Brian Cavey
3rd: Lee Brosius
4th: Stephen Hahn +11

The shot was very demanding and placed a premium on shot making and spare shooting.  As I mentioned before, it's sad that this is what bowling used to be like and our generation of bowlers would rather bowl on a wall.

I applaud all those who came out to compete.  I believe the next one is either the same or a 10-gamer and it is scheduled for Feb. 23rd.  Please double-check and I hope that more people will take the opportunity to come out an bowl this event.

From what I remember, a few of the High Games were 227, 224, 219, 267 so it's not like the shot is not playable.

Best of luck to everyone in 2010.

The biggest question is was it stated as added money or guaranteed money?  If it was stated as added money then Walton is probably right, if it was just advertised as guaranteed $2k first place, then Brian is right.  If it says guaranteed money then thats just Brian taking a gamble on drawing enough entries and if not covering it out of his own pocket.  If its added money than Walton has a valid point. I have no idea which way it was stated though.

OK, all is well in the world again. Brian and I talked it out and we both agreed we were juvenile in the way we handled this whole issue.

Now off to the basement to watch some NFL playoffs.

Tony and I talked everything out and decided that our wives are much more adult us! I look forward to bowling his tournament next Sunday at Fort Meade.

The tournament was advertised as a guarantee not added money. Just to clarify.
