Congrats to Brian Cavey for winning the first VMSBT event for 2009.

We bowled on one of AMF Country Club's patterns that they use for their singles scratch league. It was a 38' sport pattern downloaded from USBC's website. I had bowled on it once before and if you talk to anyone that bowled on it, it certainly didn't play like 38' of oil. I learned from the weekend lanesman that the guy who does the lanes during week had dropped the machine. I'm sure this lead to the pattern playing extremely tight and basically impossible on the left side of the lane. Most bowlers I talked to said it played like a Shark Pattern.

Congratulations Brian.

All I can say is that is just amazing.

Over 40 Tourney at 1pm (not sure of finish)
Red-Eye at Midnight (2nd place)
VMSBT at 10am (1st place)

To do all that, especially prior to the VMSBT and then winning it, awesome!

I think they dropped the stripper too. It was on of those tournaments folks should be thankful for their lack of ball speed.

Cavey broke his streak of 2nds for the weekend when he won. LOL

I think it was actually a few boards tighter than the shark pattern as I bowled the the shark sweeper after the PBA telecast.  Cavey won that one too, lol.   I could care less about the longer pattern (38+10 feet?), the three lane breakdowns in a row were much more frustrating.

    Chris

AMEN TO THAT! That was absolutely ridiculous. To think AMF wants $3/gm for that kind of service. I don't understand their logic when it comes to running their centers. Sunday they had a packed house and they had 3 people running the whole center. During the week that place is completely empty and they have a staff of 10 people.... WTF!

Mad props to cavey though, on a amazing weekend of bowling.  Can't imagine two 2nds and a first with no sleep on top off it, lol.  Just wow..

Kudos to Mr. Cavey but what I found even more impressive was that the 4 on their pair finished in the top 5!!!!
