May 31st VMSBT tourney
« on: May 19, 2009, 02:09:08 AM »
Brunswick Perry Hall
4359 Ebenezer Rd
Baltimore, MD  21236

From an email from Tony Walton, tournament director

The next monthly VMSBT event will be on May 31st at Brunswick Perry Hall Lanes. At Perry Hall, we will be using our 8 game total wood format and the entry fee will be $80. Also, I will be putting down the pattern we are using for the 2009 B/W Summer Scratch Classic. For those that don’t know, I have decided on Kegel’s Middle Road pattern for this year’s tournament pattern. For more details on the pattern, please visit: http://www.vmsbt.com/Kegel_Challenge_Series_MIDDLE_ROAD.pdf

Bowlers

I am sending out a note to let everyone know I am changing the pattern for Sunday and this summer’s B/W Summer Scratch Classic. I had a chance to bowl on it and had various other bowlers with different styles bowl on it as well. It didn’t hold up as well as it did at Ft. Meade. So, it’s back to the drawing board on the pattern. I am still putting down one of the patterns that I am considering this Sunday to see how it holds up.

I will keep everyone informed as to what I will put down on the website.

See everyone on Sunday.

Great tournament at Perry Hall today.  Pattern was tough but very playable with scoring much more reasonable than the Manassass 8 gamer yesterday.  Hat's off to Tony for running a smooth tournament and unfortunately the last VMSBT tournament for a couple of months.

Dursty

I'm going to try another 8 gamer at Perry Hall in July. I want to throw another pattern out there for you guys to test.

Stay tuned.

Great tournament as always Tony.  The shot was very fair from both sides and the scoring numbers and cashers proved that.  The shot demanded good execution and making sure you paid attention to the transition.  The guys that did this bowled well all day.  In my opinion this shot was better than the Kegel you used for the big tournament, because 210-220s across made you money, the other pattern took 230-240 and this pattern seemed to play fair from both left and right

Dan Schaden won at +213 (I think)
8th was +11 last cash spot
