NJ State Masters Tourney
« on: September 25, 2008, 05:11:31 AM »
Hey NJ folks, anybody planning on doing this tourney?  I saw the scores from last year, and they ranged from huge to not so huge, and I've been doing well lately so I'm gonna give a shot.  Has anybody bowled in it before?  Is it a THS or something modified?

A couple of years back, for a few years, they put out a real nasty shot. If you can spare the entry feee (not cheap), it's always interesting to see how you can do against the "Big Boys".

I bowled in it and felt it was fair. It was medium in length, scorable but you had to make decent shots. I don't believe they ever announced exactly what the shot was, maybe someone on here has inside info?

Since most people whined that it was a reverse block, it was probably a sport pattern with a fairly flat pattern like the US Open, maybe heavier and shorter oil.

They probably thought it was a reverse block because it was oiled gutter to gutter. If you played it right and could make decent shots you could score. It definitely wasn't as hard as US open. You had to aim for a board or two, not spray it between 2 arrows!

Im so glad people are brainwashed to think that TRACK sucks. And its even funnier when im carrying with my TRACK ball and they're going flat ten with their OTHER BRANDS ball.

I'll be mailing my entry this week.  I'm looking forward to it!  I doubt I'll crack the top, but it'll be good experience.

The pattern for the NJ State Masters will be a 39 foot, 4-1 Ratio applied with a Brunswick A-22 machine and Brunswick Absolute Control Oil.

I wish I could participate in it again this year but I will be in Qatar for a tournament.  Good Luck to all.
