From one certified coach to another,
Instead of coming on hear and implying my wife and I don't know that 6 does not go into 20 evenly, ask "How the heck do you guys make that number work?"

Now to answer your "statement", we add a few bucks from the brackets to round the number out so that it is divisible by 6. We usually pay two spots per game as the pot has paid between $50 and $120 for first, while second runs from $10 to $20. We've been known to kick some of the bracket money back in the prize fund to on occasion.

We hope to see you and some of your friends in the future.

I concur Jeff….

Let’s say 30 people got in the high game pot @ $20 for the 6 games, that would be $600 to payout over 6 games, $100 awarded each game towards 1 or 2 spots.  Nothing says it has to be an even amount per game taken in.  Just need somewhere around 100% paid out.

Don’t pay attention to some of these fools Jeff, you run a GREAT tournament!

I wasn't implying anything about you or your wife's ability to add, subtract or divide for that matter, but I apologize for the implication. I didn't really look at it that way when I wrote it, I was genuinely curious....looking at it again, I realize how my comments could be taken the wrong way and again I am sorry.  I do appreciate the explanation, it makes sense.  Thanks!

You did look like a fool accusing Jeff of not being able to do math.

Actually Paul's question was far from foolish. I bowled at an event, not Jeff's by the way, that was charging $10 for pots in a 6 game tournament and pocketing $4 per bowler that entered the pots. Not only that but the numbers you used made things nice and even but if you changed those numbers the payouts per game become uneven and I haven't met a tournament director yet that wants to sit and count out odd change for the pot payouts.

Thanks to Jeff for expalining how he is doing things and for actually putting some of the bracket money back into the prize fund to help the bowlers out. I look forward to making it down for some of his events.

Thanks Jason, I appreciate the comments.

Whenever something doesn't make sense to me, I always ask about it.  The problem with doing it online is that your question can be misinterpreted as in the case here.  If someone thinks that is foolish, then that person doesn't understand how people learn and they should mind their own business instead of trying to stir things up.  I call it like I see it too!
