PBA/Sport shot league Hagerstown
« on: April 22, 2008, 03:41:52 AM »
Turners Dual Lanes in Hagerstown, MD is going to be running a PBA/Sport shot league this summer starting Wed May 14th @ 6:30. The details that I have are:

-scratch singles fomat with 2 2 game matches per week
-open to youth 15 or older and adults
-cost will be $15 per week
-first place is projected to be $500

Anyone who has bowled in the King of the Hill tournaments and is on the mailing list should be receiving a flyer in the mail shortly. There will be a meeting the first night at the 6:30 start time to determine and vote on the rules. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll get an answer for you.

Is that place still a lefthanders paradise. Last time I was there 35 out of 96 bowlers were lefthanded. My side was not tuff, but Stevie Wonder coulda cashed if he was a southpaw............

Youth CANNOT bowl if there is going to be a prize fund.

Not sure when you bowled but I have never seen a field in this area have that many lefthanders in it. I'm not going to get into the whole lefty/righty thing because I hear enough of it and its played out. Being its not a house shot should make the playing field level for everyone.

If I'm not mistaken there are loop holes that will allow this. I'm pretty sure it has to do with scholarships. Thats why everyone will have a chance to vote on the rules before the league starts to determine how things will be done.

I think you USED to be able to have a league where there was money given out to adults, but youth could get scholarship.  But I'm pretty sure they passed a rule that says that you can't do that anymore; it's something I would definitely check on.
