Can I get a payout ratio???
And does GUARANTEED mean $1000 is being paid plus the prize money collected???

Why would it be all the prize money collected plus another $1,000?  He is guaranteeing $1,000 for 1st.  If he collects $800 in entry fees, well he pays $1,000 for 1st.  If he collects $1,500, well he pays $1,000 for 1st and 1 in 6 after that minus lineage.  Seems pretty simple to me.

Why this area is so caught up on "GUARANTEED" meaning "Added Money" outside of entry fees is beyond me!

Yes, I asked about the word guaranteed. Since it does not say $1,000 guaranteed based on entries, the word guarantee implies that $1,000 will be paid regardless of entries.

Money Bags says guaranteed and clearly states it is based on 60 entries, that keeps anyone from having to ask. Do you remember the old $10,000 tournament at Towson? They advertised $10,000 based on 170 first time entries. It is no different than the tournaments I run, they clearly state adult, yet numerous youth bowlers asked if they could bowl. If something is not clearly stated in the rules, then you ask and if you don't, that's on you if you get fooled.

How I read this:

- $1,000 Guaranteed regardless of entries

- Payout is 1:6, so other payout is based on entries.  If there are only 18 bowlers, they will pay 3 spots with 1st being $1,000 and 2nd and 3rd could be next to nothing.

The biggest issue is how Tournament Directors utilize the word GUARANTEE.  So many times you see "GUARANTEED $$ Based on Entries" and to me, it's a play on the word because it really isn't anything more than simply saying Based on Entries.

Advertisement is everything and people get a better feeling because they see the word GUARANTEE.
