Update: The tournament is now going to be sanctioned. This is also one of the "majors" so if you finish 1st or 2nd overall you automatically qualify for the year end invitational.

Is anyone thinking of coming for this event. Spots are starting to fill so I wanted to check and see who all might be coming.

Heres what I have for directions. I'm sure I could get an exact address if you wanted it. Its real easy to find. If you have any other questions just let me know:

DIRECTIONS TO THE CARLISLE EAGLES

From Harrisburg: take I81 South, get off the High St Exit #49.

Make a right turn at the end of the ramp and go 1.4 miles and turn left onto Bedford Street, it will be at a Light.

Make the next right turn onto Pomfrette Street.

Look for a little toll booth on the right side, turn into that parking lot and the bowling alley is straight ahead.  Go in the set of double doors to the right.

From Chambersburg:  Take I81 North, get off the Hanover St Exit #47

Make a left turn at the end of the ramp and go less than a mile and make a right turn onto Pomfrette Street.  If you get to the square in Carlisle you went too far.

Once on Pomfrette Street you are looking for a toll booth and a building with an eagle on it.  Make a left turn into the parking lot.  Bowling alley is straight ahead. Go in the set of double doors to the right.

I just wanted to mapquest it and figure out how far away it is since I am in Northern VA.

How far from Chambersburg is it?  I bowled there last tournament and it wasn't too bad of a drive.

Its around 30 miles or so further up 81. Not too bad really. If you do come up, about 5 miles before the exit the speed limit drops from 65 to 55. The cops like to patrol this area so just be careful coming through there. Hope to see you there.

CJ...Why is the "Triangle 66" Crew afraid to bowl outside of Chantilly, Bull Run & Manassas? I am curious because that's the only time I see the people from that part of VA bowling.

Good question.  Most of the guys at Bull Run and Manassas only bowl if there is a tournament at that house because it's the only place they ever bowl.  I think they just like the comfort of being able to average 220 so they won't embarrass themselves on a harder shot or in a different house.  Plus they mostly bowl their 3 leagues a week and that's it.

I just started back bowling tournaments the past 2 months or so and want to bowl more often and be more competitive.  But for a lot of us, at least for my friends and I, bowling just hasn't been a top priority in our lives like it used to be.  I don't know that there are many "tournament" bowlers in my area anyway besides Derek Petty, Stephen Hahn, and Lee Brosius whom travel frequently.  Mike Leonard is 45 miles further west than we are and still travels everywhere in VA, MD, and PA.

Plus unless you get into brackets, the tournaments are basically entertainment for the weekend.
