The 12th Annual "Big One" Scratch Tournament at Bowl America Shirley in Alexandria, VA. Squad times are 9am, 11:30am, and 2pm. Entry fee is $90 and first place is $2000 based on 100 entries. They usually get 120 or more entries every year. Format is bowl 4 games and 1:4 ratio cash and advance to finals. Finals is elimination style until you get to the top 16 then its head to head match play. In the past the top 4 and 8 bowlers after qualifying earn a 1 or 2 round bye. Good amount of side action is available.

Entries were low. The possible snow storm scared off some entries as they had around 70 something entries. It wasn't the house shot and they put down a 48 ft pattern that broke down ugly. It took -32 to make the cut for 4 games. The first 2 eliminator cuts in the finals were 167 & 177. Ira Darden beat Anthony Whitehead in the title match. 1st & 2nd place paid $1500 & $750.

I wonder if that is the same "48 ft" pattern that they plan on putting down for their 30 game tournament. If so, sounds like those participating in that should be in for a fun 16 hours.
