THUMB SIZE

WHAT'S UP GUYS JUST A GENERAL QUESTION.......WHAT WOULD THE REASON BE TO GO TO A SMALLER THUMB SIZE??

Using a tight thumb teaches you to not squeeze the ball. Quite a few players employ this method to insure that they don't grab the ball at the point of release (great example is Chris Barnes). Barnes uses and extremely tight thumb hole and I believe he even uses a forward pitch in his thumb. This philosophy is probably the hardest thing for a pro shop operator/ball driller to get across to his/her customer. Not suggesting that all bowlers use Barnes' method but in my opinion, 95% of most pro shop customers use a thumb hole that is too big.

i personally use a tight thumb, as well as forward pitch.  when i start league I cannot even get my thumb  completely in till at least my 4-5th practice ball

SO IF A PERSON HAS 2 OR 3 PEICES OF TAPE IN THERE THUMB DOES THAT MEAN THERE THUMB HOLE IS THE WRONG SIZE, AND ALSO HAVE ONE OF THOSE THUMBES THAT GOES UP AND DOWN SO THEREFORE I AM CONSTANTLY CHANGING TAPE AND OF COURSE IT ALSO DEPENDS ON THE WEATHER.........
