I wondered what everyone thought of ASB-Joe charging $23.95 per ball shipping on ebay. I have a bid in and thought about buying another ball from them, but think having to pay full shipping per item is BS.

If you look on the shipping charges in the item description, he addresses if you win more then one of his auctions. Here is a quote from his auction: If You Win More Then One Ball Shipping For EACH Ball Will Be Discounted $5.00 For Each Ball Won.
So, he does give you a break. Just looking out for the reputation of a good seller, and good driller.

i'll also help him out...
he told me the price was a little higher than a normal price (which is around, what maybe 16-18$), because it pays for the Ebay and PayPal fees. it makes sense, and i'd rather spend the few extra bucks to get a ball from him anyways

Also don't forget the prices of shipping, are going up because of oil prices. I work for a shipping company, so I know what gas prices can do, to shipping costs. Hope this helps you out.

Its an unfortunate reality that the fees that Ebay/Paypal charge are
ridiculous. They can add up to 5-6-7% of a sale. Its just the cost
of doing business. I have no problem with being up front about it
and thats why when someone asks, I am always willing to explain why
a flat fee of 23.95 covers all.
Thanks,
Joe

If I read correctly that ebay is trying to put a stop to over charging on shipping as this is their #1 complaint. I sell on ebay and might make a buck or 2 on shipping. But I know for a fact that it does not cost $24 to ship a ball anywhere in the US. I have sold many a ball on here and the most I have had to pay with FedEx is $16.
So I guess I know if I win the listing I am bidding on it will cost me $24 shipping from Ohio to Indiana. But it will be the last time. That is if I win.

You're right it doesn't cost that much to ship, but like Joe said, the eBay fees, Pay Pal fees, and actual shipping price, DOES cost that much.
So lets say he buys a ball for $50...you win it on eBay for $50...they take away the sellers fee...then the final value fee, then you pay with pay pal, and they take a part of that too. He only charges the actual price to ship, now he's in the hole. Doesn't make too much sense does it?
If you wanted to buy a ball from him, why not just do it over BR?

Come on now 23.95 is too cover cost of shipping and the box with labor to ship it too you, it was your choice to bid and maybe you win may not. Are you paying employees wages, rent and taxes to sell on ebay??? Probably not if you are then next time read your auction first, i am in nevada joe pays at least 19.00 for shipping to send a ball here.
Joe is the best source period on here or the net, Clint is close but he is too stuck on Track balls for his good.

Mr.bowlingnut,
If your read the post at the top of the topic, it says $23.95 shipping per item. If you read his listings you would see where it says PER ITEM. It does not cost $19 to ship all the way to Nevada. I have shipped balls to California from Indiana and never paid more than $16.
And by the way, its a TRACK ball I am bidding on just for your info. I have also bought a ball from Joe before you all got on this band wagon of him being the best there is. He took care of me on that ball, but no one likes having to pay $24 shipping for one ball, then $21 or so for the next ball and so on.
So you all can get off your high horses about Joe being the best.He took care of me on one, and probably would do that again. I don't like being ripped off on shipping on ebay. I don't do it there when I sell and I have 100% feedback with over 103 positives.

I can understand where you would charge exact amount of shipping cost and no more as far as e bay charges you don't charge your customers for that thats a part of doing business

Id love to do more business with you.. Its probably best to do it directly
with me as then I dont have that extra layer of expense to cover. I encourage
dealing directly with me. On that level costs are no more then 2-3percent
of the plus actual shipping so you can easily save 7-8 dollars on shipping on a ball in most cases unless you live out on the left coast

For me as an individual to ship to places in California it cost about $24. I have no idea what a business gets for a discount. For myself to ship to Joe it would cost $11. I normally do not bid on auctions with high shipping, because they are cheating ebay and if they would cheat ebay, then they would probably cheat others(This is just my opinion). I do not know Joe, but he seems to be a decent guy to deal with; a lot of people have made deals with him on this site.
