BOWLING.COM

Anyone who wants an on time order do not shop at BOWLING.COM!  I put in an order for a pair of shoes a week ago today and have not recieved them, but i did recieve and Email this morning telling me that the shoes that were "in stock" when i purchased them were no longer in stock!  When i called to see what had happend the lady informed me that the computers need to update sometimes and it happens.  OK understandable, so i ask how long i should expect to wait.  2-3weeks!! But before i could reply her first response was to ask if i would like to cancel.  Which leads me to believe that many people are upset with orders and call in to cancel, so her first response to a call is to ask if they want to cancel for her own convienence!!  In case you missed the point BOWLING.com has an unreliable website and incompetent staff.  I happliy placed an order at BOWLINGindex.com who assured me that my shoes would be there with in the next week(at most).  I believed this only because i just bought a pair of shoes from them the week before and they were there in 3 days in cluding the day i ordered.

Wow, you're really touchy it seems.

While I admit that a week is a long time to go before telling you they're out of stock, I think that it's admirable that all it took was a simple phone call for you to be able to get things straightened out. I hardly think that they were incompetant. They realized that 2-3 weeks is an inordinate amount of time to wait for shoes & I'm sure that's why they gave you the option to cancel up front.

It's mail order business, and next time you order from the other website you suggested, they too may suddenly become out of stock & have a 2-3 week wait.

Might I suggest Decaf.

Most of these places rely on warehouses or middle men you might say.  They do not really stock these items.  I have had similar experiences as you except with bowlingindex.  They called me a couple days after I placed an order and told me it was now out of stock.  Could take weeks to get it would I like to wait or cancel the order.  I canceled.  It was no big deal.  That stuff happens.  Only way to avoid it is find a local pro shop that has all the things you want in stock at the time.

Bowling.com has to be one of the biggest and most reputable shops on the net.  I work at a pro shop, stuff gets backordered, computers take time to update, and besides, what if they had it in stock a few minutes before you ordered it, and in the time it took you to order it, two or three others placed an order before you?  I realize that's the exception rather than the rule, but it's possible.  The distributors don't call all the people they supply everytime something goes on backorder, they'd never get anything done.  Then if you order something they've been able to get recently, and they go to order it and find it's on backorder, it's not their problem, because it's an online site.  Then when they find it's on backorder, that's when they put "out of stock" on stuff.  If you don't want the complication, you should call them and have them call their distributor (unless they currently have it in their possession) to make sure it's available before you buy it.  It's not their fault if it takes 2-3 weeks to get something to you, that's how long they have to wait before they can get it themselves!  They ask you if you like to cancel because that's good business.  Because instead of waiting on them, it gives you the freedom to order somewhere else.  You might want to delete the topic, you don't know what you're talking about.  Just shows the impatient ignorance of the upcoming generation . . .

Hamster Reloaded, don't apply one person's ignorance and impatience to an entire generation.  I'm sure I could find some ignorant and impatient people from your generation, but I'm sure you would insist that that doesn't apply to you.  So have no fear, the entire upcoming generation will not all be ignorant and impatient.

Lol, I know.  There are a ton of retards in my generation, but teens get dumber and dumber by the year, I shudder to think what they'll be like in 10 years.
