bowling.com experiences
« on: April 06, 2010, 03:24:39 AM »
I'm looking to order a Reign of Fire with specific top-weight and pin placement. Does anyone have an opinion on bowling.com or give suggestions on other sites? Buddies doesn't allow me to choose the pin placement and top weight I want so I was thinking I could just call them and place an order.

I'm looking for a 15lb with a 1-2pin and a 1-2oz top weight.

Also, what color inserts and slug look good in a Reign of Fire. I'm thinking I'll do yellow since logo is yellow. I only use Vice so the online store will have to carry Vice products as well.

Any help would be awesome.

Thanks!

I love bowling.com.  I just ordered 4 balls and requested specific top weights and pins.  I've dealt with them for a long time.  As long as they have the specs you request they will ship it.  Just make sure you make your request clear.  If they do not have your specs...they call you and let you know what they have

Just call buddies with your requests, I'm sure they will do anything possible to meet your requests...great guys to deal with!

And as far as the inserts go, yellow or white should stand out the best on that ball if you want to see the grips...i dont like to see the grips so i go with black

Whenever I have ordered in the past from Buddies, there is always an option to choose ball weight, pin position, and top weight.  Only once did they not have what I requested and in that instance, they sent me an email asking what I wanted to do.  With all of the others, you have to ask in the remarks section, and they then tell you that it could delay your order.

I want to thank everyone for the feedback. I ended up working out a deal with tizzle and my ball is on it's way and should be here Friday. I'm even hoping to get it punched Friday night!

tizzle has been a pleasure to work with. I'm guessing that I'll be giving him two thumbs up once my ball arrives based on other BR member's feedback. Until then he is on the hot seat.

1-2 oz top weight will be tough but bowlerclub.com is also a multi store pro shop and will be able to find what you want. They have been in business since 1984 and are very reputable.

tizzle came through with flying colors. I will certainly be doing business with him in the future. I can't wait to throw my new Reign of Fire on Wednesday.
